Went to Barber Museum this weekend(lots of pics)
Hey guys,
My wife carried me for my birthday to the Barber Motosports Museum this past weekend in Birmingham, Alabama. I must say that it was definitely worth the drive. The museum had a large focus of Harleys, BMW's and some Japanese bikes but the majority were v twin bikes. There were all kinds of bikes that I had not ever heard of. Custom bikes, one off prototypes, record holding bikes, etc. We took about 5 hours going through it but if I were by myself I could have spent a weekend in there. If you guys are ever thinking about going then I would strongly suggest it. I am already thinking about getting a pair of tickets for the superbike races and carrying one of my kids back there this spring and riding the Harley. Here is a bunch of pics. This is two of the four racks in the common area for motorcycles: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0329.jpg They had a Porsche track class. Some of these guys were moving along a pretty quick pace: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0333.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0335.jpg This is a Harley dualsport bike. It runs on diesel and gas. It isn't used by the military anymore because they use klr650's. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0365.jpg This is a ducati st4. It did a ironbutt from Cali to NY in under 36 hours. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0356.jpg Check out the brake rotors on this bike: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0358.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0357.jpg other misc pics. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0363.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0352.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0351.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0350.jpg Jeff Wards hypermotard http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0339.jpg fully carbon fiber body buell http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0340.jpg wow this bike was awesome http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0341.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0343.jpg this bike was used by shore patrol to help get ammo to soldiers in the field. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0337.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0328.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0327.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_0326.jpg |
