Get your credit card through your credit union. They were not involved in the mortgage and securities mess at all. With them you have a local person to talk to and good rates.

I've had a Visa through the credit union for 37 years without a single issue. They don't change due dates, interest rates or any other game the banks do.

 

Geico was "in trouble" with me long ago when they sent me the questionaire about having a radar detector. I had already heard about them digging thru a wrecked car looking for a radar detector. I cancelled them long ago and would go without insurance before I'd use them, which I consider about the same difference. I've heard they are great to you really need them.
