Very cool. You're both going to look back on this as one of the things you've done together. I know!

My son and I built an ironhead bobber for him this winter. It runs like a scalded *** dog. It makes for some serious father son time. Enjoy!

Hey just an update on the sporty build. Got quite alot done over the weekend, right up until I got 3 pieces of steel in my eye and had to go to the ER to get them taken out with a dremel tool. Never been much on safety first but guess I will now cause that hurt like a bitch. Was able to get the rear fender mounted and after 3 tries on the struts finally came up with the ones in the pic. Got the battery box done, going to use a leather belt to hold it in. Should have the oil tank in a few days, then I can get it mounted. Next will be the tag and tail light mount. Coming along pretty good and thought I would just pass it on.

Man, what a great project. I love the leather belt idea to hold the battery.

Got some more done this weekend. Got my oil tank from Jigsaw Custom and was able to get it mounted. Fabed another tag and tail light mount and got it mounted, coil mounted, oil filter and a fancy spinner off like a 64 chevy on the gas cap. Christmas came today in the form of a new plasma torch. Cant wait till tomorrow to fire it up. It sure will making brackets alot easier. Here are a few pics of the progress:
