I just bought a Daytona brand rally style skid lid last week....$50 bucks new at the local HD shop. Very similar to one of the previous posts. It's DOT approved and very light weight. The HD dealer even beat the on line prices.

Got an ACC about a year ago, a little noisy but it does stay tight to my noggin.

I just bought two DOT helmets by Skid Lidz, (plain black for me & a black with pink & purple rose for the GF). I'm trying to get use to it, but I'm use to a novelty helmet. The GF says it gives me a slight shroom head look, but not as bad as others we've tried on. They aren't that bad for the price, (~$80 for the two lids). Wish I could have tried'em mine on before I bought, but I'll survive......The novelty lid was worn completely out after nine years.

Thats simply not true. Side by side, the HCI carbon fiber is smaller in the same size helmets. Like I said earlier I went shopping for an ACC and walked out with an HCI because of the size difference.

I just ordered the HCI DOT Glossy Polo. Just can't buy into the whole CF thing. It's a half helmet; they're just not that heavy anyway. And BTW, from the Returns/Exchange Policy listed on the website, it does appear that Helmetsrus does allow you to return/exchange helmets as long as you do it pretty quickly.

Hey GG, that helmet you're wearing looks really good! It must be the model.

I bought the HCI carbon fiber from Jafrum, and sent it back. It was much wider than the ACC helmet.

Thanks golfblues and Funnygirl but the one in my sig pic is a Fulmer shorty and it's okay but a bit more mushroomy than that pic shows and on long rides, it's gotten to where it bites into my forehead for some reason and is uncomfortable. I've been wearing it for three years now and time for a change.

Bites your forehead! Now who would do that

After all, what does your helmet say on it!
