Default zox old school helmet or daytona

debating between a zox old school or daytona skull cap and was hopeing maybe someone here has had a chance to see both in person. i dont have any dealers of either helmet anywere near me to see one in person and see how its profile is.

i know that most ppl all agree that the acc is the lowest profile but i cannot afford one at the moment so thats the reason im not including it.

I have a Zox old school. It's a good helmet, I like it. It looks a little bulky, but it's shaped well enough that it doesn't really look like a mushroom.

I hope that helps. I don't have any pictures of it on my head.

thx.
yea, i really havent had any luck whatsoever finding pics of ppl wearing a daytona half helmet so its hard to make any kind of informed judgement on one.

i was fortunate enough today though to find a companies website with someone wearing a zox
http://xchoppers.com/product_info.php?products_id=1278

if the daytona fits closer to the head than the zox than i may be interested in them but if its no different than the zox, i just need to start saving towards a ACC.
I have been wearing novelty helmets for so long, its hard to get use to a DOT helmet and the DOT helmets I have tried have been uncomfortable.

I just got a daytona dot 1/2 a week ago. its not bad, but still looked goofy compared to my novelty acc I used to wear all the time. I think its as good as any other dot 1/2 out there and probably better than some.I am trying to get used to it, but really miss wearing my acc novelty carbon fiber one. rumor was they were gonna crack down on novelties in MD so I am trying to wear this DOT more but its a struggle.

i know what you mean.
NC is the same way. we use to have a very vague helmet law wereas you could get by with a novelty however they changed it sometime back so hence my looking for a DOT helmet that is as comfortable as a novelty.

I have the Zox and the Daytona. Both will still give you the mushroom head effect but the Daytona has a smaller profile and fit me better.

I've been riding in NC for years now and still wear my novelty. I also heard they were going to crack down so I purchase an HCI half helmet. I took a drummel and scraped out some of the insulation because the thing was huge. Needless to say it stays in my saddlebags for emergency only. I still wear my german style novelty and have had no problem with the law in NC. I even put a DOT sticker on the back.

pretty much what i have done with my beanie novelty helmet (throwed a DOT sticker on the back).
figure though the first time i run through a license check by the NC highway patrol, my luck is gonna run out.

hopeing to luck up and find one of those daytona helmets. would like to see one in person as i really like some of their graphic half helmets.
