I know that is the Sportster site, but it should work with othe models as well.
We used to weld these up out of all pipe and they worked really slick. The key is to find the right height that still works to lift the bike and allows the rear tire removal with the fender on. For all you guys criticizing and saying buy a lift, please remember some of the members work on a more limited budget, even if they arent and can fab up something that works, saving the dollars for more important things like gas and beer.

The ratchet slings that are included, are for securing the bike to the lift. It's the operator, that makes a job safe or unsafe, no matter what means they use to complete the job.

That is a perty color. Black Cherry?

There is a guy who sells plans for a do it yourself motorcycle lift on ebay. You make it out of 2x4's, plywood, and threaded metal pipe. You use a standard automotive floor jack to raise it. I've thought about giving it a try.

OK, you got about 15 large wrapped up in the bike. Am I right or wrong? And you don't have a 75$ bike jack. Hey just saying, block and wood guy. Thanks for the tip.

I've dropped my bike before, and it is amazing how FAST they go down.

You may not be laying under it, but you are definately kneeling down beside it.
The moral of this story is....holes vertical.
