Question Exhaust and fuel economy question...

Hey guys, I have Supertrapp Fat Shot's on my bike. I'm currently running 12 discs + end cap on them and I was wondering if I were to take off some of the discs, let's say make it 6 discs, would I get better fuel economy? This would result in a less free flowing exhaust. My tuner is a Thunder Max closed loop system with auto tune.

I would think that making changes to give you torque increase at the rpm you drive at, would give the best gas mileage.

On my 2005 SE Fat Boy, with the 103" engine, for the first 2-1/2 years I had Samson Rip Saws. They come without baffles and are just basically drag pipes.
The bike ran great with them but I couldn't take the very loud exhaust any longer, so I switched to a 2 into 1 Fat cat with a quiet baffle.
I still average the same 40 mpg. .
