I have given the OP a lot of thought and will take a different road here then most responders did....I like to find merit in things so:
Al Gore would probably agree that buying this metal mask once will save a lot of tinfoil over the years for those who wear tinfoil hats and have trouble getting them to fit after you have them in your pocket awhile.
The only real downside I see is for those members who frequently ride in thunderstorms because they don't trailer, but even then if you scrunch down far enough maybe you won't be a lightning rod.
I say go for it...it does send a mixed message though...like a Miata with a rollbar. John
