Well, we were all headed up for a nice ride to Wellsboro, PA this weekend, but now we may have to scrap those plans in light of the flooding. My area (South Jersey) is not very flooded at all, but the news channels here are all saying "Northeast PA is flooded". Can't seem to pin down if Wellsboro falls into this category or not. I'll be calling the hotel tomorrow morning, but also want to hear from anyone local to this area on what to expect - or maybe tell us don't even bother attempting this

I don't live in the area I just visit several time a year. I'm planing a ride to Wellsboro this weekend also, I haven't heard of any flooding. The hotel sure should be able to let you know.

 

My wife's uncle lives in the area as my wife was born in Wellsboro and he says there is some flooding, might want to try it another time.

 

IF you don't make it up there me and a few guys are riding up to Ephrata, PA on Sunday. It is a First Sunday of the Month Ride. Breakfast buffet at the American Legion building. In June there was about 1000 bikes. It is a fun ride and there are a lot of cool bikes. Last time there was a few Boss Hoss's and lots of customs.

We are meeting at the McDonald's rest stop on the PA turnpike at 7:00am...between the Valley Forge and Mid-County tolls, westbound.

Thank you all for your replies. We decided to cancel our reservations as to not lose money and we'll make a decision tomorrow night. As it stands now, though, we won't be making it up there this weekend.

Msocko3 - I called the hotel and they really don't have any issues with flooding, however north and east of them does. She did say portions of Rt 611 are under water and the major route out of NY coming from Tioga Co NY is flooded as well. I don't know if this impacts you or not, just figured I'd pass it along.

Yup...first Sunday of every month March thru November.

Just Google the American Legion in Ephrata for directions or you are more than welcome to meet up with us off the PA turnpike. We are meeting at 7:30ish (AM) to get there around 9:00 (AM) and get some breakfast. We usually hangout for an hour or two checking out bikes meeting people and taking pics. Then take a longer way home and grab some lunch. I was home by 3:00pm last time...

Did you have a problem with the food? get the runs? or get sick from it? I would like to know...we are planning on eating at the American Legion. We usually eat at a little restaurant a mile or 2 before it. Let me know
