This is not actually "Vintage", but it is my first HD. 1972 XLCH that I baught in the late fall of 1971. This picture was taken at my camp site in Northern Minnesota (on Leech Lake). This was the last leg of a 9,000+ mile trip I took before going into the Army.

That's my Grandma on the Harley.
It's a D model made from 29 to 31. It was a 45 CU, the first of the HD flatheads and was
refered to as the 3 cylinder becasue the generator was mounted vertically. They were replaced
in 32 by the R model when the frame was modified so the generator could be mounted
horizontally and later became the W.
