What tires are you running?

My first 2 Dunlop 402 rears both gave me between 10,000-10,500 miles. Switched to Metz 880's and 2 of them both gave me between 15,000-16,000 miles. The Metz also handled noticably better that the Dunlop.
I've just installed a Dunlop E3, to see how it compares to the Metz.

I am trying my first Elite III... about 2000 miles on them and they handle great...i also was tired of getting no more than 8000 miles and Avons, Michelins and D402's...not even trying Metzelers as a buddy of mine only got about 7000 miles...they are great handling tires but the mileage sucks and thst is why i am trying the EIII's i would put a Car tire on my bike if it would fit.

The ONLY reason I decided to give the E3 a try was the continued escalating price of the Metz. The best delivered price for a Metz 160/80-16 I could find was $173.00, and the 160/80-16 E3 was $151.00.

I have an 05 Road King that I love, but I'm about sick of only getting about 6,000mi. out of my rear tire. I feel that Dunlop hasn't improved their tire since I had my 89 Heritage, so I'm in the market for an IMPROVED rear tire that gets more miles to the tire.
Any experience with other brands?

Keeping the air pressure correct will help also.
Personally.... with the rough roads in NC, and the heat, AND... my fat butt.... I get around 8-9k on the OEM Dunlop. I've switched to the Dunlop Elite 3, and am very pleased with the handling, and tread life...13k +, but I switch tires out, before I need to... rather than choke the last mile out of them

Avon
I'm running Avon Venom's
I've heard that these tires need higher pressure, so I contacted Avon,
and their Rep asked what bike I was riding. They suggested for my bike
I run 45psi in the back, and 41psi up front.
Fantastic traction wet or dry, and so far great tread life, as well.
Only had this set on for about 4K miles, and they look new.

"Round ones"

Awwww comeon Shu... why not square ones? Then you could get that clu-thunk-clu-thunk sound that we all like with our Harleys - or is that a Wump-Wump :-)
I get 9-11K on my rear Dunlop 402s. After reading all the posts on the Dunlop E3, I'm going to change the rear in the spring. I'm changing as much for the better performance eveyone says they get as for the better milage.
