Arch supports
#12
you can pick up really good supports at a store that caters to joggers... They should have someone there that can look at your foot and get you the right arch support for you.

Thanks for the replies. I am not quite in need of a podiatrist. When I wear tennis or running shoes (90% of time) my feet usually give me no problems. It's when I wear dress shoes and now these boots that cause all the discomfort. I hate to pay $30-$50 dollars on inserts when my wife already dropped $200 on the boots, but I guess comfort is worth it. I once tried some cheap inserts, but they were too thick and made my foot feel cramped in the shoe.
I'm going to look into Featherspring and the store were my wife bought them. The store sales a lot of shoes to runners also, so we will see. I just hope they don't try to sell me too much. If I can get these boots comfortable, I just might start wearing them more often because I like the looks of them.
Thanks again for the help.....Now does anyone no were I can buy me some good pipes, perferably deep and throaty!!!

There is an insole out there called "Superfeet" that is pretty nice. http://www.superfeet.com/ They have different colors, representing different arch types and shoe/boot use. REI and other shoe stores sell them. The website has a link to find a Dealer.
I removed the insoles from my boots and inserted these and give the arch support I need w/o taking up a bunch of room. Have them in other shoes as well.
Good luck.

"A good supportive insole is critical to boot foot. Typically the manufacturers choose not to spend the money to offer the boots high end insoles. Sueprfeet insoles will help to absorb shock and vibration when riding. They also reposition the foot itself as to take up less room in the boot then without. This will help alaiviate the feet falling asleep and general aches and pains in the foot, to include the arch, simply by putting the bones and muscles of the feet in their ideal alighnment."
I wear Superfeet now and have for 12 years now. Wont see nothin else in my boots! Give them a shot,, ya don't like 'em,,, take 'em back. That's my $0.20

I've spent hundreds of $$'s on this subject. 1st $400 for custom molded inserts. Then Dr. Scholl's, then i got smart and went to a good Podiatrist. Found out i had a pissed off Baxters nerve, took 6 visits and shots in my foot to kill off the end of the pissed off nerve. The Podiatrist recommended Power Steppers inserts. They run around $50.00 from the New Balance shoe store. Life time warranty.. now i can walk w/o pain. THERE IS A GOD!!!
So I suggest screwing the doc's outa their fare share and go strait to the source of permanent relief. They have the means to scope "your" foots needs and sell you the corresponding insert for you.
The inserts I purchased four years ago have as of yet to deform or crush under the toe, ball or heal area. What more could anyone wish for. And for a damned lot less than the other alternatives!
More than $0.02 worth!
pm you my bill!

Just an update if anyone cares. I was going to head down to Backwoods this weekend (Thanks, 10ring, Monstead and n2thecraft) to buy some superfeet inserts, but my wife went out to the same store she got the Redwings and bought me some inserts. They are ProThotics pressure relief insoles. So far they are working great, no discomfort and for only $30. She also bought me some boot length socks to protect my sensitive ankles . All set in the boot department, now the next thing is a helmet. Thanks again.
