In your dreams!

My pipes don't seem to disturb the deer eating in my front yard when I come home in the evenings. Hitting one is a fear I have here, too.

I would be suspicious of any deer avoidance device.

I am too, we have burrow pits every 20-30 miles around here just full of road kill, they don't work, paying close attention works best I say, but with bush close to the highway ya need to just slow down and prolly have horseshoes up yee ****...

Exhaust will definitely get some deer out of your way. You need to make a rack on your bike to carry one of your stock, take off pipes with you. When you see a deer, take the pipe and chase the deer while waving it over your head and yelling. Works for me. Haven't hit one yet.

I see deer everyday as the population in NE ohio is now over 700,000. In 1970 it was 70,000. But thanks to the bambi lovers & peta people they are everywhere. About 10 of them bed down in my neighbors & my adjoining back yards and they eat all my landscaping each year. They do hear my SEII's as they look up when I am coming and many run when I am about 40-50 yards away. In my 4 Runner on the same road...they don't look up and just stand there. But I live on the edge of the Cuyahoga National Park and they are protected. But I could take 2-3 a night with a nice crossbow and a flashlight.

Rule of thumb, there are 3 deer you dont see for every deer you do.
Deer get used to the exhaust noise so it doesnt bother them.

Deer hang out at the skeet and trap range I go to. They walk right through where the piles of old clay targets land. Kind of loud, don't ya think? Ain't no exhaust louder than a 12 guage. They stand in the road and look at you like you are invading their space. Dunno, man. They are my biggest fear at night coming home on relatively high speed rural roads.

I wouldnt count on your pipes scaring the deer away. My uncle and aunt hit one a few years back in Illinois. He had loud pipes and they were both nearly killed, my aunt will never fully recover. People do hit deer on bikes.
