One thing about these, make sure you take the tension off the jack bottle by using the bracket thing, and then release the jack so the bike is held by the metal, not the jack bottle.
That will make it live a LOT longer.

Best jack on the market (IMO): J&S 2000lbs $339.00
Best lift table on the market (IMO): Handy 1000lbs $975.00
But HF can make a 1500lb jack for $59.00 ??
Just playing devils advocate here. No offense intended in any way shape or form.

I understand what ashmarc is saying. But are you going to use it as much a a shop would?.. If you are only going to use it occasionally and lock it as ltrbx said you should be fine.

It's a great jack. I have one, and use it ALL the time, and not just occasionally. I don't see how spending more money = better jack. IMO. They way I look at it is you just save a couple hundred to spend elsewhere. I also have never seen a single post on how an HF jack ruined a bike. +1 on taking the tension off the bottle for long periods, that goes for any bottle jack

Absolutely was not trying to be a d!ck.....
This is just one of those things that make you go ...... hmmmmm....
Maybe everyone who buys a HF lift gets the last laugh when they last 10 yrs......
.......or maybe you just don't start a thread when it fails and your $20K bike hits the garage floor.
Could go either way I suppose....

I bought the same HF lift for the same price. I use mine ALL the time and have never had a problem. It's just so damn easy to lift her up to wash the tires or whatever.
I get a kick out of the folks that spend ten times that amount of money and then stew about whether it's safe or not. Hell, I use mine so much that lately I haven't even been strapping it down unless I have some serious wrenching to do.
