For the record, these helmets are not $50 BUCKS! They run almost $200. However, I have one (DOT) and it's the best helmet I have ever owned from a styling and comfort standpoint. BTW, mine took 5 weeks to get just before Laconia bike week in June.

Thousands of dollars? It's pretty cheap to buy in sheets. The helmets are $110-$200. Pretty expensive compared to the alternative, novelty helmets.

200 bucks still doesnt cover the cost of material if its carbon fiber clear thru is all Im saying.Heavy weave carbon goes for approx.80 bucks a square foot, and that may not be true now.DOT means absolutely nothing anymore except to cops.Whens the last time you seen a SNELL sticker on a half helmet?

It's a carbon fiber and kevlar composite. With carbon fiber and kevlar both being so prevalent in products these days, and the fact that you could send them just about anything you want, motorcycle tins, car parts, anything, and they will cover them in this for just a few hundred dollars, I'd say that the volume of orders this company is getting they are coming out way ahead of the curve. That, despite the fact that they hand make every helmet they sell. No machine automation and assembly line manufacturing done with these helmets.

Just got mine. Had to call them back and get a thinner pad for it to fit correctly. You'll hear a lot of comments about the quick disconnects. Personally, I like a quick disconnect but, the quick disconnects used by ACC are crap. I'm changing mine out with the quick disconnects on my skid lid. Much better quality.

Thinking of getting one. Would like a little more protection then the novelty brain bucket but i don't like the DOT mushroom heads either so the carbon pretty thin plus stronger then the novelty.
