Been there. Done that. Bought the Ultra when I was 45. Sold it when I was 46. 48 now. After 22 years, the Heritage still fits me just right. Kids'll probably bury me on it.

I'm also 52 and riding a Dyna that I REALLY like . I DO have saddle bags on it though and a small quick detach shield . I often wonder why when a rider gets older they would buy a bigger bagger or dresser when that bike would be heavier and more of a handfull for an older rider than a lighter more nimble bike . I mean wouldn't that just mean you'd have to get off that bike sooner and go back to a lighter bike ? Or is it that the older riders are the ones doing the longest road trips ? Just wondering

I'm saving my bagger for when hot young chicks stop checking me out....which was like 12 years ago. but anyway...I still like to imagine that is happening...so when my alzheimers kick in and I forget where I parked my dyna...I'll get a bagger. If I can remember where the dealership is.

Get a hardtail w/springer front end. It'll keep yer back in shape.

Hell no!!! Are you even old enough to ride a ****kin' Harley. I did the quick stuff until I was 40 then when the feds got too keen on my license status I moved to a Dyna. I bought a Bagger at 48 but wouldn't have done it if I needed to sell the Dyna.
My scorecard works like this:
0-39 Bikes - faster the better
40-50 Dynas - faster the better
50-70 Baggers and Dynas
70+ Baggers
