Rush Slip-ons

Anyone ever used slip-ons from Rush? i'm thinkin' of getting some in a 2.25" baffle. I hear they are one of the best sounding slip-ons

charle 07-01-2010 09:22 PM

I got some Rush 2" baffles and really like the sound.

rhj 07-01-2010 09:48 PM

I've got the 1.75" on my Dyna Low Rider 07. Good sound and I didn't have to alter anything else on the bike. I've heard if you go with 2.25" you may have to have some engine mods done. Not sure. Ray J

We sell a boatload of Rush slip ons. Our techs recommend over 2.0 and you should tune it, up to 2.0 they say is fine.

SoCal_Will 07-02-2010 12:05 AM

2" here...love em'

RiverWolf 07-02-2010 12:23 AM

Rush 2.0
Have had many folks tell me my bike sounds good.
A really good deep sound.

Steve Zodiac 07-02-2010 03:13 AM

I've got the 1.75 baffles which were fitted when I bought them. I was going to fit louder ones but I haven't bothered. They sound pretty good and they get louder in time as the packing compresses.

jluvs2ride 07-02-2010 04:13 AM

I don't think they are so great. I have em w/2" baffles. Can't wait to replace em.

moondog99 07-02-2010 04:20 AM

I have a set of Wild Pigs with Rush 2" baffles. Rush builds a set of nice slip ons.

cdestuck 07-02-2010 05:06 AM

Have the 1.75" on my Ultra, like the sound and plenty loud for my. With the 2.25, hope your likin loud!!

Blue Ice 07-02-2010 05:40 AM

Rush Racing Slip On's

I have the 1.75" on my Sportster 1200. Love 'em. Low rumble sounds great! Can't wait to do the same to the new Dyna in the family! 2.25's are going to be LOUD. The 1.75's were louder than I expected- just FYI.

SG 1 07-02-2010 06:49 AM

When I ordered mine they were out of the 2" so I took the 2.25" baffle. Very pleased with sound and quality. They are loud when you get on it, but just cruisin, you can definately hear them but they are fine. I can still hear the radio.

Captain Bligh 07-02-2010 06:50 AM

Rush with 2.0 baffles here. I like them and get lots of compliments on them. I wouldn't want them any louder. YMMV.

DeafUltra 07-02-2010 07:05 AM

Have 2" and loving it every moment whether cruising in deep rumble or roll the throttle hard to produce loud barking sounds.

I have the Rush Baloney Cut 2.0" mufflers on my 2003 WideGlide.

Very good quality and sound great. They remind me very much of the 'Original' (for off road use only) Screamin' Eagle 2 mufflers that I run on most of my other bikes.

The Rush 2.0" mufflers have a very deep tone, don't have that 'tinny tone' common with many aftermarket mufflers, and really bark when you crack open the throttle.

Here is a small audio/video of the Rush 2.0" mufflers on my WideGlide at idle. The recording was made with an old Sony Digital camera with small built in mic so it doesn't capture the full tone, but it will give you an idea of how they sound;

I really like mine and they sound great

tgshoe 07-02-2010 09:13 AM

I have the 2" straight cut slip ons. Very nice sound, deep rimble and fairly loud when you getting on it but low when just cruising. easily hear my radio. Rush is an A-1 company also, will stand behind their products.

golfblues 07-02-2010 09:33 AM

I didn't like them on the 09. My 09 idles faster then the 06 & just didn't sound good. Very brash sounding when accelerating too. They scratched easily & I've heard that complaint from others. It looks like I'm in the minority so TIFWIW. They were 2".

shortride 07-02-2010 09:43 AM

I made the mistake of putting a set of 2.5" Rush on my Road King Classic and they were way to loud. I let someone have them that like'em a lot better than I did.

OldFenderGuy 07-02-2010 10:28 AM

Another nice thing about the Rush mufflers, original Screamin' Eagle 2 mufflers, and other mufflers with internal baffles held in place with a set screw is that it's very easy to swap out baffles to adjust the tone.

A simple rule of thumb is the larger diameter of the baffle the 'larger the tone', the smaller diameter of the baffle the 'smaller the tone'.

If you want a quieter tone just bolt in a smaller diameter baffle, or bolt in a larger diameter baffle if you want them louder.

I run 2.25" Rush, love them. I can wake the dead if I want, but I can also roll through town and not disturb anyone, just depends on the throttle. 2.25" is the max recommended for a stock 96" motor. Add a hi-flow air filter and a fuel management system and she'll wake right up.

ArtySmoke 07-02-2010 10:56 AM

Have Rush 2.25 slip-ons on my EG Classic, love 'em. Just the right amount of sound.

BQ2 07-02-2010 11:15 AM

2.0 and they are great !

OLD 96 07-02-2010 10:06 PM

I have run the Rush 2.0" and 1.750" baffles on the square cut cans. Pros= repackable baffles, great sound, great chrome. Cons=packing burns out,and exhaust gets louder, square cut cans are boring. Now run SE fishtail mufflers. Still have the Rush cans if I get a wild hair.:icon_woot:

HDMarkyB 07-03-2010 04:17 AM

LOVE dem Rush slip ons...

Said this a dozen times...BUT. I have the Rush 'Blunt cuts' on a Fat Bob w/2.25 baffles. I cant recommend them enough. DEEP tone and quiet if ya short shift but bark when ya bang it! I turn more heads w/ my slip ons than dudes do with full blown $600-$800 systems. Left bar tonight with a HUGE MC club in parking lot..All stopped talking to hear my bike leave. I grinned like a monkey thinking how little they cost and keep the rest of the HD stock system complete!! Try 'em-if you DON'T like them I guarantee you can sell them here in no time...That's where I got mine..:icon_dance-cpatch:

Screaming Eagle II slip ons are the most pathetic excuse for an exhaust ever...IMHO

StreetGlider57 07-03-2010 08:04 AM

I like mine but I wish the word "Rush" was inscribed on them.

CardiacThug 07-03-2010 01:34 PM

I had the 2.0 slipons put on my 2010 road king and thought they would be a little louder. Is it true that the 2010's would have quieter sound due to the cat converter thats in the 2010's?

jsmckinn 07-04-2010 09:18 PM

I have the 2.0" Rush baffles in stock cans on my 09 Street Bob, and I love the sound & performance. I get a lot of compliments about the exhaust every time I ride. I took the bike in to the dealer for the annual PA inspection, and I rode away with a smile after the compliments from customers, sales, and mechanic. I have used V&H, stock, modified stock, and I like the Rush 2.0" myself. Very docile at idle and cruising, but twist hard on the throttle, and it barks real good.

If you have a bagger with cat in the head pipe, the 2.50 will sound similar to the 2.00 baffles on a 09 bagger without a cat converter.

Great to hear from so many riders with RUSH!

I have a set of 2.5 in. Rush slip-on`s on my Road King . My bike has a S/E race tuner and a S/E Ventilator air cleaner installed also. I remover the fiberglass packing to get more sound , put it on the puter , no additional tuning was needed . After running it for awhile like that , I decided I wanted more sound ( I love LOUD ) . LOL I pulled the baffles and had my local muffler shop remove the louvered section of pipe and weld in a straight section of pipe. They are quite loud ( my goal) and have a nice deep , hard hitting sound . Running with just the baffles out was too hollow and echoy . I again had the Dealership check it on the puter , No additional tuning was needed .

A friend of mine has a 2010 Road King with 2.0 in. Rush , has removed the packing , running a S/E Heavy Breather air cleaner , and has no tuner installed . After each upgrade he has had the Dealership put it on the puter , and has not had the need for a Tuner yet . We are both very close as far as performance , the 2 bikes were Dyno`d and are around 96 ft.lbs. of torque , and 97 hp.

I`m not recommending that anyone alter their baffles like I did , I just wanted to share what I did . If you do decide to try it ,, be prepared for a lot of Harley sound .

I`ve had mine for a little over a year and around 6k miles with absolutely no discoloration to the muffler anywhere .

Grady10 07-06-2010 04:41 PM

2.25 here. Love em! Not to loud when cruising but when you get on em, they WILL set off car alarms..HEHE

bhunter00 07-06-2010 05:19 PM

I have the 2 inch on my ultra took the baffles out and unwrapped them for a little more noise

oct1949 07-06-2010 09:39 PM

The 2 1/4 will cause U to lose low end.
the 2's are plenty loud
the 1 3/4 are what Rush now recommends for other wise a stock engine....

I did stg1 and cams which are now ok for the 2''ers.

the two's will set of car alarms when U nail it while driving by......

army_eod 07-08-2010 01:57 PM

just taking the SG in for 2.0s

2010 heritage 11-08-2010 12:50 AM

rush baffles

had 2" baffles on my rush mufflers and replaced with 1.75". much better. Bike even seems too run faster. Still looking for that old school rumble though. Like the dragpipes.

Lambo 11-08-2010 01:22 AM

This is great, I as well have been looking at the Rush slip on's. From the sounds (no pun intended) of it, they are a good sounding set of pipes. I think this is what I am going with!

Bart van der Meulen 11-08-2010 05:55 AM

3" open slip ons S&S with adjustable dB killers. Based on the priciple of reflection they are very effective from 1400 rpm up till 4400 rpm. Deep rumble, good Harley sound and hardly no dampening at idle rpm. In the past I had to switch mufflers for a long ride. Nowadays I adjust the dB killers in a few seconds. I love the open slip-ons, the make a wonderfull sound. Especially when I can adjust the level of sound they make. And here in Europe the law is comparable with the coming 'California' law in sound levels of motorbikes. Especially Germany, Austria and France.

I have 'em on my EG Classic, with a 2.5 baffle & really like 'em. Go to a dealer on a nice Saturday morning & ask some people to fire up their bikes for you. Rush slip-ons are pretty common & you'll be able to hear for yourself.

toycannon 11-08-2010 04:31 PM

I have 2.25 Rush slip-ons 0n my Fxstc with a SE heavy breather air cleaner. They sound real deep. Very happy with them.
