When I was in I had a truck. I would put the bike in the back of the truck, and pack the rest of my **** in a U-Haul Trailer. I felt better moving the stuff myself and the Army gave me a check to do it.

They've moved my bike twice in the last couple years and no issues...I watch them like a hawk and remind them how much time and $$$ I've put into it. They don't want to pay for damages, so it usually goes fine (make sure it's secure - most important).

About 6 military moves with bikes and I always move it myself. Usually ride it to the next location to do some house hunting then put it in a storage unit. Rode one from Alaska to the lower 48 on a move, epic.

No problems here. They put the bike in it's own crate and have it secured. Moved my wifes bike from Japan back to the US and no problems. If something had happened, we would've been taken care of.
