Labor Day Road Trip

Labor Day Road Trip
We had a 4-day weekend at work for Labor Day. My daughter lives in Greenville, SC with my Grandson and her husband. So, seemed like a great time to take off on a road trip. A riding buddy from work went with me. We did a total of 1600 miles on the trip. We took only back roads from here in Orlando all the way to Greenville and back.
Once in Greenville on Saturday we rode up to Cherokee, NC, picked up the Blue Ridge Parkway and headed up toward Asheville before heading back on the local roads to Greenville.
On Sunday we rode over to Toccoa, GA. Although not as intense as riding the mountains we saw the Airborne Memorial where the troops in World War II took their Airborne training as seen in the HBO series "Band of Brothers." There's also a nice waterfall in the town to see.
Monday we got up and rode home reversing the route from Friday. The weather the whole time was beautiful, cool and the clearest I've seen the mountains in a while.
