Yea im leaning tward a backrest too. Corbin is 435.00 plus 200+ for the backrest so there out of the mix considering how much im going to use a two up seat.

Mustang vintage 15" wide with driver backrest looks good but the Saddleman explorer with backrest looks good too. Frekkin choices.

I have both a Mustang Wide Vintage Solo with backrest and a Saddlemen Special Explorer with backrest. The Mustang has better lower back support, but sits you higher on the bike. You sit upright with the Mustang and sort of slouch in the Saddlemen.

I also had a Mustang Wide Vintage Touring one piece (with the passenger seat) and a Saddlemen King. I always used a Kuryakyn driver backrest with both of those seats. With my bad back I really need a backrest and won't ride the bike without one.
Problem was my 8 year old daughter had problems with the hoop for the backrest, her legs hit it. That's why I have the Mustang Solo and Saddlemen Explorer with the backrests now. I also have the Mustang passenger seat for the when I need it.

I have wide vintage solo that I use on my FXD for long trips. Longest on that seat was 1,056 miles in under 24 hours. (Iron Butt Saddlesore 1000)
Comfort trumped looks on the FXD, and I suggest the same for you.
FOR TRIPS,
FOR LOOKS,
Corbin,

I bought the Mustang Wide Vintage. I can ride all day on this thing.
Instead of buying the 2-up seat, which I believe has a 1 piece seat pan, I bought the solo seat and the pillion separately. They bolt together as a 2-up seat, but you can remove the pillion when you want a solo seat. The front part pillion also acts as a sort of backrest as well and is very comfortable.
