Way too many unknown factors to just throw a price out. Call some shops, tell them what you are looking for and get a rough estimate

It depends on what you want. Call my custom paint guy and talk to him. He will explain the entire cost and why it costs what it does. His name is Mick at Badass paint. His number is 310 594 6730 or you can email him at mick@badasspaint.com

LoL, I was going to post something similar.

Like the other guys said, depends on what you want and call around to see if your painter is overly proud of his work price wise.

I had emailed Justin at JBgrafix about the ballpark price to do a flame job on my road king custom, but with extended bags, and custom rear fender, the bad-dad type..I also want some flake in the basejob.
He replied a flake job STARTS at $3500+up...kind of what I expected...
I'm not sure I want to sink that much coin in a paint job though....

You can get a custom paint for $1200-$3500. Whats your price range?

1200 is what I was thinking I called a couple of places one had prices from 1900 to 3500, I also called badass and they said they were more then that, "but you get what you pay for"

so now I am kinda rethinking the whole custom paint job route, I do have a complete extra set of tins, just to mix things up a bit, maybe I will just do a regular paint job

I would like a custom paint job too! But as most well know, one can't have anything nice anymore as someone will undoubtedly fugg it up for you as soon as you leave it somewhere where you can't see it at all times, and that is no assurance either. I personally, not intentionally, screwed up my own paint accidentally the second day I had my scoot. I would be depressed if I screwed up a $3500.00 dollar paint job. Theirs no way I would spend that kinda coin on anything less than a show only bike.
If I one day choose to paint, I will go the cheap route, or get some assistance and do my own Cromacolor paint on mine. I have a friend in the business who could at least help line me out in that arena!
My $0.02
