Not for nothing, but I'd go with the express shipping on that manual!

It is called racheting and it does happen on some cables.

Glad it got fixed.

+1, they specifically say not to lube the clutch cable. Just the lever pin. I'm leaning on the fact that they probably forgot to refill the primary. It would do just what you are describing.

My 2011 HD Touring service manual says to lube the clutch cable with Harley Lube P/N 94968-09.
I experienced the same rachet feel after The 1K was done on mine.
After putting a few more miles on I adjusted the clutch and lubed the cable with Motion Pro cable lube. Now it's good.

If the service department has seen the problem before when using a particular lubricant why in the world are they still using it? If there is even a remote possibility that it would cause a cable binding problem then it should be tossed out in favor of a lubricant not known to cause the problem. Seems there is a liability issue here that the dealer would try to avoid.

Glad they got you fixed-up quickly & I agree w/others on the BS flag. Bet they lubed the cable & probably replaced w/new one to correct their mistake...JMO.

Like the others, I don't see how the cable could make it grab. It would have to be erratically changing lengths.

250 miles a week is riding the daylights out of it? I guess they don't make daylights like they used to.

You win the prize. 09 and up require no lubrication. I'm thinkin maybe the shop should buy and install a new cable at no charge. From what I read that clutch cable is now junk.
