Default RE: DIY seat recover....hard?

ORIGINAL: waterman7474

went to get started this weekend and realized that my hand stapler is probably not gonna cut it. so i stopped by sears and looked at some run of the mill electric ones. the question is:

1) will one of these be good enough to punch into the hard plastic of the seat pan?

2) if it is strong enough, which staples do i need? the smallest they have is 1/4 in and narrow but i think the ones on the seat are even more narrow than that.

i know a neumatic will work but i don't have that set up.

I have removed my stock cover to re-shape my seats many times and a plain old arrow stapler (hand) from any hardware store works just fine on the stock plastic seat pan.
