Default Sturgis......but not on a bike

well i have been wanting to do Sturgis for years..so this year the bride and i are flying to Rapid City on the 5th renting a cage (at least its a convertible) going to see the sites also planning to ride Beartooth Pass then back to Deadwood on the 9th and taking in the rally for the rest of the week and fly out on the 13th, sure will miss not being on a bike but time does not allow me the option of pulling or riding from North Carolina for a 10 day's and 3600 mile round trip...checked on a Harley rental but 250 a day is a little strong for me and there is no way i could trust a company to haul my bike to and from...if you see a old bald guy in a convertible stang dont give me to much sh-t........

Riding in the hills is better during the non-rally time anyway.

The OP doesn't have a problem...
But appearently you do...
Maybe you should buy a house with a shorter driceway....
Most people of even moderate intelligence would never buy a house with 3600 mile long drive way...
What do property taxes run on something like that?

To the OP, if I see ya there I'll buy you a drink of choice. Have fun, take lots of pictures, and you don't have to explain anything to nobody. You can always go back out some other time with the bike.

I ran into the same problem - Daytona is even farther for me than Sturgis and I don't have the time and money for 2 or 3 days fo travel each way. between that and my wife riding her Sportster and probably not being good for over 400 miles a day, I'm looking to get a trailer and tow them behind my truck. We have a free place to stay in Florida, so if I can make the 21 hour drive straight through in my truck, it's do-able.

Don't let anyone convince you that you have no right to be there or enjoy the festivities because you are not travelling by bike. That's ridiculous. Bike or no bike ... The people, the camaraderie with others of the same interest and the entertainment are second to none. You will have a blast! Enjoy and rock on!
