What condition is it in and how much do you want for it?

 

I think that after WWII cars became much more affordable and people made much more money. roads also improved. So nobody needed a sidecar for utilitarian purposes any longer, they just bought a motorcycle for fun and a car for taking people or picking up stuff, I am guessing.

 

If can get a disgruntled spouse to get in a sidecar, it's cheaper than divorce!

 

I've had a sidecar since 1991, and would much rather have a "Hack" than a trike, but that's just me. Ya can carry MUCH more "stuff" in sidecar, they are fun and comfortable to ride in, and ya can take it off in a few minutes and have a real motorcycle!

 

Sidecars rock. There's a Ural in my future for sure.

I dont think youd want to go any faster than 65 for any length of time in a ural. Rather have an HD hack if I was ganna tear up the freeway alot.

 

The whole point of a sidecar is fun, not speed. Most Harley riders get that. You want to race; trade your Harley in on a Busa...

 

There are quite a few sidecar manufacturers out there. Just google motorcycle sidecar. Not as expensive as I thought they would be either.

 

A completely accurate statement; many people simply couldn't afford cars in the days when sidecars on motorcycles were common. Sidecars were marketed as an alternative to the automobile.

I believe that sidecars are nowadays relatively far and few between because there are so many innovative trike designs (2 wheels up front or two wheels behind). Some people like the retro traditional look of a sidecar...personally, I think they so significantly (and fundamentally) alter the handling characteristics of the two-wheel motorcycle they attach to, that it it would be better to make the transition (if necessary) to a more stable 3 wheel vehicle.

But, it's all good. Whatever keeps yer knees in the breeze!
