Interesting... I'm surprised that HD dealers carry them in the US. Over here, they only seem to be found at Military surplus outlets.

Not me. A lot of American want everything Harley. I am sure only a handful of dealers carry them on the floor here. However some sort of collector buys them I am sure. Or if anything it's an attention getter for customers in the store

Government contracting is very lucrative and Harley has a very long history with the US military. So, I'm not surprised they were making these for the military, and they are probably still making something for that market. You can probably find the profit line for these ventures buried somewhere in their annual report.

I knew they built the WLA(?) series for WW2 but I didn't know they were still a military supplier. I gotta go get me a copy of their Annual Report!

What the heck could they supply? Chrome foot pegs for tanks? TourPaks for HumVees? Can you imagine a tank with Screaming Eagle mufflers?!

Hannum's HD in Media has a blue one sans all the accessories on display on the second floor.

one thing to notice about that thing. its got a seat height somewhere around 8' or so. when i stood next to it, the seat was up over my waist. there was no way i could even get both sets of tiptoes on the ground!

Our dealer has one in his warehouse on display as well.. I actually saw one of these in parade last year at Rolling Thunder.. kinda cool I think..
