As a newby may I interject a thought? If we allow them to whine with the understanding a solution is needed , and will be given by those in the know, then I as someone who seeks more and more knowledge will be reading with interest.Let em bitch but lets help them solve what is wrong with their bikes or we are no different than those dealerships that fleeced them to begin with. If I know how to help them, I will be responding with a solution...just a thought.

Great looking shovel. I've always been a fan of the SuperGlide one-piece tank.

Yep. BTW, I had 3 AMFers...a '76 FLH (bought used in '86), a '77 XLCH (bought used in '79) and a 1981 Low Rider (bought new in '82). The only POS was the '76...too many shade-tree mechanics had gotten ahold of it over the years. The people that Harley wanted to distance themselves from are the very people that saved the company, in my opinion. This was years before the yuppie invasion. We hated the factory and the factory hated us...but we were the only ones buyin'! A real strange situation in retrospect.

Thank you. I just built it about 3 years ago, but it is very similar to the '77 Superglide I rode back in mid 80s.

Even though I currently ride an FXR...In my mind the best looking HD frame is the '58-86 Duo-Glide 4 speed frame. Timeless. I had an '85 FXSB Lowrider in the 90s...Duo-Glide frame, 4 speed, belt drive with kick and electric start. In short, a one-year only machine. There were a few '86 FXWG's so configured. Sorry I sold it.
