I've been riding with my favorite cowboy boots, but man are they slick at times. I'm finally trading them in as I wait for my new boots to come in from http://www.leatherup.com.

ridding boots are pull on so if you fall off the horse then can slip off and your not caught in the stirup. i don't think thats good for a bike, you want the boot to stay on.

I bought a pair of these at Boot Barn a couple of months ago. Great traction and very comfortable.

Slip off, horses, stirrups, ER's, etc, ....you guys are over thinking this. Cowboy boots are great for riding. As mentioned, take them to a shoemaker & have vibram soles put on and go riding.

I have a Tony Lama pair of boots about 15 years old. They are very comfortable and I had them resoled with thin rubber soles several times. They are great for shifting but touchy if traction is bad. I wear Vibram sole boots now that I have a heavier bike. Better traction and arch support.

Agree w/others on leather sole (big no) & got to get used to having the longer toe w/shifter & brake pedals. I love my Double-H harness boots (comfy) and recommend to anyone for riding.

If these fall off - then they're too loose/wrong size. I don't see any stirrups on my bike to use for pulling out so believe I'm safe...

Got a pair of Georgia Boot slip on steel toes, they are the most comfortable boots I have ever had.

Yeah i wear a pair of Lucchese ostrich with vibram soles. More work looking boot (round Toe vs Riding boot pointed toe) they wear well and show lots of character after some time.

One thing i will tell you with Lucchese boots is that they have a relatively high arch support. Like most of my boots i stand in the the tub full of warm water to break them in when i first get them.

My Chippewa cb boots have vibram soles. Made in USA also. There's many more styles and if you search the web you can find them discounted.
