Changed Clutch Cable, took cover off and milky fluid, need a little help

The clutch is lubed by the primary oil, NOT the tranny oil.

Man just walk into any shop and ask the mechanic what is needed for your year bike or look in the manual . Be safe and do it this way then you know without the obvious confusion you have going on here .

OP is talking bout changing clutch cable which means removing clutch release cover that is on the tranny side door.....SOP to drain tranny when removing clutch release cover.

Thanks for the help fellas, I'll probably do a change of the Trans and Prim and then another change right away to flush any bad stuff out.

Just a quick note, your gearbox oil does not wet the clutch, that is done by the primary oil. It is something that is very often overlooked, the changing of both gearbox and primary oil. Milky oil is always caused by water contamination and could indicate either a bad gasket or seal on the dipstick. Definitely worth keeping an eye on as water in oil will result in a failure at some point. Transmission oil should be 75w 90, 80w 90 if it is a mineral oil and lower if it's synthetic.

I went with a 75-90 Synthetic GL-5 Gear Oil. Changed today gonna ride for a week and change it again.

My ex used to get the milky discharge sometimes when she took her panties off. Maybe it's the same thing. She used to get something from the drug store to clear it up. Don't know if it will work on the harley though.
