That would be quite something, for the MoCo to step up and help this guy out.

I think there's something about this in the Owner's Manual "CAUTION: Having your motorcycle swept into the ocean to bob along for thousands of miles until it washes up in Canada may void your warranty".

Seems like a good PR move.

Funny how a Harley made it all these miles. Did all of the Japanese bikes corrode?

If I was HDMC, I'd send the guy a brand new scoot, 100% paid for (shipping, licensing, etc other fees), and have the original set as a monument to those lost and those who survived, in Miyagi Prefecture; if the owner consented...

Otherwise, I'd offer to rebuild it to his specs (customs, add-ons, paint, etc. all included)...

Also, I may offer to tenifer-coat the frame (tenifer being literally bulletproof anti-corrosion material)...

Find the owner would be the Honorable thing to do but to restore it AND return it to it's owner. I'm quite sure they lost more than their Harley. Just keep Obama put of it or he'd claim credit for it's recovery.

I'd give him a couple of hundred. It's been in sea water. It's pretty fu<ked.

Let a rube pay out the nose for a corroding bike.

That would be Deely HD Canada so it would cost twice as much plus PST and GST. LOL
