Maybe it's just me. But I would not fixate on any light or object. Also, a flashing white light would not confuse me thinking it was an emergency vehicle. Red/blue/yellow create that possibility not white.

I see little merit in the objection to pulsating headlights. The DOT though enough about them that they have overruled states from regulating against them.

It would be a federal case to fight against them.

Fixating on them would make one the "deer in the headlights".

Can you imagine if everyone ran them?

And since I'm way more concerned about the guy behind me not stopping in time vs the guy in front of me turning left, I suppose I could wear a spinning strobe light on my helmet to cover all angles. Achieves the same result, they ALL see you, right?

Or does that go too far?

If your that concerned, maybe you shouldn't ride something so vulnerable in the first place.

We had a a guy in our group that had one. It was so annoying that no one would ride in front of him. He finally removed it. I've heard cage drivers say that they are very confusing, they don't know what's going on.

I think the only flashing light should be a briefly flashing brake light.

I knew I would get flamed on saying I fixated on the light, by all the know-it-alls.The reason I did that was I could NOT see the motorcycle. That is why it was visually confusing. And yes I knew that white is not an emergency vehicle color. But many unmarked cars have flashing headlights and minimal colored lights, so I thought since my view was obstructed, I was not seeing the colored part of his light menagerie.

I only fixated long enough to determine the primary threat level, of a seemingly imminent risk. I had to take a calculated risk to ignore the secondary risk of deer from the periphery. I would do the exact sane thing again, in the same circumstance, and that is why I don't use a modulator. It isn't all about me.

Here's what I think .....

Damn it .... My Mom always told me if you can't say anything nice, don't say it at all.

I was going to say modulators are for pussies .....

They are a distraction, but that's my opinion and we all have our own.
