Depends on the dealership. $10-$12 per hour plus commission. Also depends on the volume the dealer does. Dealers who pay more, charge more. You get what you pay for.

If I worked as one I would make parts disappear , then reappear in my garage . Way to make up for 10 a hour . lol

 

Not enough,I have witnessed some real BoneHeads giving the parts guys a hard time.Like they have any control over anything.

Ever wonder why the parts guy from dealer "A" went to work at dealer "B", and then went to work for dealer "C". Dealer "A" caught him with sticky fingers, then dealer "B"found some parts which grew legs and ended up in the parts guys garage, none checked references so he ended up at dealer "C".

Most people that steal justify it in some way or another, dont think justification will keep this parts guy out of jail though. Anyways I assume you were joking... :-)

 

At our dealership and the ones in Eastern Canada and the Eastern US, the highest i've seen paid was $15 per hour and it is very rare that a dealership would offer the parts guys commision.

Now this I agree with, I asked the parts guy for a part number on a speedo for my SG he gives me one for a lowrider and tells me that they are all dynas and are interchangeable... thought he was pulling my chain for a sec.. he was dead serious. Tried to tell him that the one I need goes on the bars and the lowrider is on the tank he got PO'd, salesman had to intervene and get me the part number.

 

aren't those speedos the same size? they probably are the same part no. I'm guessing he was talking about the actual speedo and you were talking about the speedo housing?
