In my opinion the government has no right to make a law that says you have to wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle. It is a decision that a biker should be allowed to make for himself!

That being said I will always wear a helmet when riding.

 

We never wear one when I’m with wife. Always when I’m by myself I ride different with no ball and chain behind me LOL. I would never want to get her hurt.

 

I have the choice. I wear one because it is more comfortable and it saved me once when my head went through a car window.

 

I started Riding when helmet laws were not established in the state of Maryland, about 5 years later helmets were required. So I got an Outlaw style Skull Cap (not DOT). I got used to it, but will never wear one of those huge DOT helmets ... The answer to you question is No I would not wear a helmet on certain rides. but more then likely, on longer trips through bug infested country side I would.

Helmets are mandatory in Massachusetts.
I would still wear a helmet if the law was repealed, but that will never happen in this state anyways.

 

They already have concerning seatbelts. What's the difference?

 

WI is a no helmet state, but I wear mine 99% of the time. (See diagram below, which shows incidence of impact percentages). I wear a FF, but this summer when it was hot, I rode without a helmet. Next year I am going to get a 3/4 helmet for hot days.

My son is a paramedic. He has had patients with their brains oozing out of their ears, that fell off their bikes at low speeds. That doesn't appeal to me.

 

I ditch in NH cuz I can but yeah I do like wearing it...
So far 100%.
