Numbness
On longer rides, I begin to experience numbness/tingling in both hands. I am newer to riding (bought bike end of April). If I move my hands around a little on the grips, it helps, but not for long.
When I first started riding it, the numbness would set in a lot sooner than it does now, so part of me thinks I just need to "ride more".
Does anyone else experience this and how should I deal with it? Thanks.

I have some carpal tunnel, my left hand sometimes gets numb playing guitar or riding. I find that riding gloves work to alleviate this for me. Its possible better grips might help. I changed handle bars but not the grips.

While riding, try to "relax" your grip and keep shoulders/elbows loose. Tense = bad and it will cause numbness, over time/miles. Also, might want to look into your riding position. Sometimes it takes a set of higher bars/risers and forward pegs/controls to get your body in a better position. You're off to a good start - keep logging the miles!

Great feedback fellas, thanks. I do wear gloves when I ride...they have some padding but not much. I've also been making a conscious effort to relax my grip when I ride. Also considering some different bars.
I just cracked 1,000 miles today. Took my longest ride so far...135 miles...mostly highway.

You might consider a set of cushion grips, I think they would
help with the vibration that could be causing the numbness.

Check the fit on the gloves. I once gave away a pair and got the same ones but one size larger and no more problems.
Like others have said the death grip is a no no as well. I tend to do that two up as soon as the backrest comes off and the OL gets on. Then I wonder why about 100 miles later my hands go numb.

That's what I was thinking. If my fingertips start to tingle, I realize I'm holding the grips too tight for some reason.
Maybe get some spongy type grips or some sort of gloves.
