I know that we all love our rides much like our own children. There is even a spot in your profile to name your bike. So this got me and some friends thinking and talking,

"Do people actually name their bike, and what's the meaning behind it?"

So I want to see how many of you all have named your Harley. What do you ride, what's the name? And is there a story behind it? I am sure there are some great stories out there...

 

When asked this, I always think of Big Black because it is. I also refer to it as "the bike" and never "him" or "her" like some do. My bike doesn't have a sex.

And I didn't "shoot it" aka pull the trigger, when I bought it either!

 

I just call it "The Harley".

 

I call it "Not this again!"

 

Call mine "FTM"

I don't love my bikes. I love my family, my friends, my horse and my dog. I am no more inclined to name my bikes than I am my washing machine.

The bike is called Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe.

I'll ask the wife what she calls the washing machine.

I do know that she has a machine called 'rabbit'.

 

 

My bike is Raven, nevermore. I named my Children, my Dogs, my Horse, my Cars and my Bikes. Weird?? Yep. I have been known to pat my bike and pet my Dog. I even talk to my trees sometimes. Ever howl at the moon or praise a sunrise? There is a spirit in everything. My Bike has a soul I believe, worthy of a name. Is it, or just yours?
