Default 3" tank lift

While my tins are out being painted I think I have decided to do the 3" lift on my 2000 fatboy. Anyone ran into any fuel issues doing this?

Thanks

Ive heard with a 2.5 lift you lose apprx. 1/4-1/2 gallon of gas.

I did a 3" lift on my 97 FXD. I get the same miles out of a tank of gas, but not much on reserve!

Ok... so it effects the reserve, that is what I was looking for. I gas up at 130 miles anyway.

With a tank lift it really depends on the size of the tank and the size of the lift. I have an entire thread on the subject at this LINK.

Here is an example of a tank lift on a Dyna...

I have apes... but I guess they might hit at the bottom of the bar? Better wait till I get my tank back before deciding on this deal.

With Dynas, the clearance issues come in at the triple trees. It is a bit of a sporadic issue, some have issues, some do not. It is always best to check first just to be on the safe side.

I did a 2 1/2" tank lift on the WG.. Get the same amount of fuel usage out of the tank, but like stated earlier, a little less left in the tank when I hit reserve now.
