Oh Crap is it me or the bike???
Back in 2008, I had my 07 96ci engine rebuilt to 103ci
and, it had some of the most gosh awful tq and hp a
country boy could ask for. Here is the problem that I
am having now, six years later the "OH Mother Bear
zing zip zowee" seams to be missing. Could 40,000 miles
rob an engine of its spirit, or have I just became so use to
it that my goose bumps have went limp? Would TC-W3
clean the ring pack enough to put the flash back into my
RKC 103 ?

What is your compression? Did you do a leak down test? When was the last time you gave her a tune up? Have you changed the fuel filter lately?

Has is been a gradual, unnoticed change, or a sudden one?

I agree, eliminate the simple things first. Plugs, fuel, fuel filter, plugs etc... Have you been burning any oil? Air filter clean

I don't think that just having 40,000 miles on it has anything to do with it. May be some other problem has developed gradually. Or could be you're just used to it now and it doesn't seem to be as quick.
I have 35,000 miles on my RK and I'm happy as can be with it. It impresses me every time I twist the throttle. It's stock, and I'm easy to please.

When I was a li'l whippersnapper I had two bikes, a 50 cc suzuki and a 125 honda. When the honda seemed a bit tame I'd take the suzi Q out for a spin for a few days. When I climbed back on the honda it seemed like I'd harnessed the wind. She's all relative. With boats it's called one foot-itis. With bikes it's one footpound-itis. It will only be enough when you get into trouble.
A rip on a top fuel harley oughta cure your blues
Having said that, the advice from the previous posters is good stuff. Eliminate the mechanical first.
Good luck

My bike came from the factory as a Stage II ( 95" , bumped compression, 203 cams.) It got a better air filter and a 2 into 1 exhaust. The heads were swapped out (used take offs,) at 72,000 miles because the Y pipe cracked and I didn't hear it, and I burned the rear exhaust valve and it hung up the next morning. Andrews 26 gear drives at 81,000 miles and now 60,000 miles past that and it still feels as strong as it ever has.
So if you feel like it slowed down in just 40,000 miles, something is probably wrong IMO. As said, always do the simple stuff and then test for compression / leak down next. (If nothing else you get piece of mind.)
