Temporary Throttle Body De-Tune
As my intro thread stated, I just bought a used '00 Ultra that's FI. It has a pair of 212(?) cams with screaming eagle heads and exhaust. Anyway, the guy who had it before me put a 58mm throttle body on it and I'm told this is way too much for what the bike is. Since I'm going to have to deal with the situation for a month or so, I was wondering if there may be a safe way to slow down the air charge to make HWY to street a liveable transition. The tech setting it up says that it can run great on the HWY with a crap run on the street, or can run great on the street and fail on the HWY.
After everything gets back in shape, I'll probably be carbureting it, due to just plain being better at it than computer controlled A/F.
My theory is that it's either tuned rich or lean, but can't seem to find a common ground. I'm assuming that, like with cars, lean is the enemy. Rich, not so much. Just kind of looking to smooth things out a bit till the funds recoup and I can switch to carburetion.
