I put mine with the gas cap

Seriously mine just goes on the mirror. Who gives a rats azz if they take that beat up smelly ole thing.

I do like the idea of locking the strap in the hard bag. Good suggestion.

Maybe I've been lucky, but I have yet to have anyone touch my bike or hear of any such shenanigans on friends bikes, so mine hangs from the throttle or right peg. Sometimes I go the next step and slide it in the roll bag that I sometimes have on the rack. Out is site out of mind.

Usually just carry it with me I trust nobody..

If I have to leave the helmet or jacket, I lock them to the rear wheel with a cable and padlock..

I put mine over the GPS and my wife hangs hers on the mirror. We've been to Sturgis several times and never had a problem.

Throw it on the foot peg; but do have a gun lock I can string through the chin strap if I want to.

Been riding for 33 years, never had a helmet touched. My stinky old half helmet usually sits on the seat, unless it's windy-then I hang it from the mirror. If I'm in a place I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving the helmet, I wouldn't leave the bike either.

Only once did somebody steal something off the bike. That was at the shopping mall in Oneonta, NY. Somebody went through my saddlebags, bypassed my helmet, my $70 gloves, my tools, and stole my dollar store sunglasses.
