Somebody needs to seriously explain to me what the fug all the hoop-da-la is about over that stretch of road , I rode the thing on a 2 stroke long before it got it's nick name and there's hundreds of better roads of that nature to be ridden . If an tractor trailer can take it it ain't **** for a bike road .......................

Think there was a Fellow killed on it a week or so ago...they have been trying to stop bikes on there for as long as I can remember...I rode it 20 years ago...they were trying then

I've ridden a bunch of times, it's cool to "check the box", but I agree with others that there are a lot better roads to ride. The squids passing everywhere and guys getting sucked in way over there heads. The Cherohala Skyway is an awesome ride with some great views too. When I lived in that part of the world it's where I would be found.

When we stopped for gas, one of the guys who's ridden the Tail several times said, "Now THAT's a road! Tail of the Dragon is a ***** ride!"
Screw 311 turns in 11 miles let's do 200 miles, and at least half of it in 1st or 2nd gear.

16 of us rode California Highway north from San Francisco till it joined 101,, then up to Crescent City.

Come out of the backside of Crater lake on the north side and take that canyon rd to the coast with a logging truck hot on your taillight , follows the river and in some places a 1000' straight up all around you , exhilarating is an understatement .
Ride the Snake river canyon the full lenght some time , awesome is and understatement .
I can make a long list of these ,
