Riding the BRP at night
Suffice to say the right hand stays on the brake handle. Buddy and I got back a short time ago and plenty of deer, mostly at dusk and not so many after it got dark. Sure do love my Daymaker lights on the Glide!!!! See I need to adjust then up just a bit more.

I dont get it? Why would you want to ride one of the most scenic byways in this country at night?

I'm not crazy about it myself, getting a cataract in my left eye. The night just hides the scenery that we'd like to see.

If i'm riding on country roads at night its because I took longer than planned for at stops along the way. Other than that, I prefer to relegate my night riding to the super slab...for obvious reasons.
I'm doing the BRP in just under two weeks and with 14 hours of daylight or so, I only planned for just around 7-8 hours of riding per day to allow plenty of time to take it all in without having to ride in the dark or even at dusk...dem deer be dumber than a bag o rocks and I'm only bringing so many pairs of underwear...

Hot summer days, turn into cool summer nights up on the parkway. Love a late night ride on the parkway. From Maggie valley, start at M.P. 455(hwy 19) to M.P. 411(hwy 276) back to Waynesville. This takes you along the highest part of the parkway. Around an 80 mile ride round trip from Maggie.
