the search function within a forum running on Vbulletin (like this site), or even running on the latest, greatest xenforo.... just sucks. I have better luck googling with hdforum in my search string

Another J&S fanboy here. Zero issues with it.

I bought the Drag Specialties jack that manually cranks with a ratchet wrench. Works as advertised. It’s made of Chineseum (is that hate speech?), but so are the bottle jacks on most of the other hydraulic offerings including spendier ones mentioned here.

For $500+ could get a lift table vs simple floor jack.

I have a Big Red jack bought at local autoparts store (many use them for ATVs as well, so, local ATV store good place to look too)

One issue I've found is make sure the support plates are long enough (and overly long) to fit under the frame of the bike to support it. On older models frame is narrower, but on newer models its wider so sometimes it "just fits". This is my personal experience, others may differ.

Also the rubber on top (mine at least) gets chewed up in time. Took awhile to figure out what to replace it with that could withstand abuse.

Yeah, there have been a ton of threads on the subject as I recall, and the suggestion made to do a browser search is sage advice.

That being said, I have a Direct Lift table, which is awesome. I also have a HF yellow MC/ATV jack which I use from time to time. Both have proven to be useful over the years.

I have been re-arranging my garage this weekend to accommodate my new bike, and have my table positioned so that I can park the FatBoy on it:

I like that I can move it around relatively easily if I have a major project, but it is solid and stable as can be for longer term parking.

Anyone know what's going on with J&S? Called, left messages about wanting to buy a lift, no response or call back at all. I know we're coming off a long weekend and all but just curious if anyone has tried contacting them as well.

I use a Bobcat with forks. The only issue I ever had was knocking the rubber stopper off the jiffy stand.

Baler Belting from Tractor Supply. Clean rails on jack, cut-up belting to appropriate size and glue down with Shoe Goo.

I looked at their (J&S) website just now and they really are expensive. (I bought mine used for $200 8 years ago and figured I was saving half.) But, just as I also got a $200 Pit Bull stand for the Kawasaki because I don't trust the $39.95 internet specials out there, I don't need to remind myself of how much money those jacks and stands are supporting when they're doing their jobs. I know that you can successfully get a bike off the ground for less money, and careful people will get away with it, but if you can afford the best, go for it.
