I am new to this site and even newer to bikes. I have an 05 softail duece and I was riding one day and the engine cut out completely. I haven't been able to start it since. Any ideas? Again I am new to bikes so please explain in detail what your talking about. Thanks for any help that may come. I just bought a new battery.

 

Did you hit the engine 'on/off' switch? Did the new battery help? Is it out of gas? Did you check all of the fuses? Do you have a manual? Kinda hard to help without any information.

 

We can't work with so little information. Does anything work, or is the bike entirely dead? Do you have a biking friend, or even a car enthusiast who can look things over with you? Might be something darned obvious, as White Ice suggested, otherwise you'll have to get it to a local dealer or indy. Don't sit on it too long, just because you don't know what is wrong! Find someone local who can help.
