Trike vs Bike

RE: Trike vs Bike
Converted a 2001 Fatboy over to a trike. \\; Best thing we ever did. \\; Wife could not hold the bike up but now it isn't a problem. \\; She rides anywhere we may decide to go even up in the Rockies. \\; We changed it over to a trike before she could get hurt on the bike. \\; I got my riding partner back and we each have our own ride. \\;
 \\;
I figured it this wayit was cheaper to get the bike converted than pay one hospital bill.

RE: Trike vs Bike
I'm thinking about a trike someday and it will be for medical reasons. \\; I'm thinking about installing this option on my RKC. \\; Check this out.

Since reading your post's and exchanging emails I have been able to share the virtues of the Voyager kit with about 3 riders I know who were pondering how to continue riding now that they are older and with hip and other physical issues. I was able to suggest the voyager option as an economical fix to a potential very expensive proposition or give up riding. \\; And it looks good too.

I am in the middle of building a trike. Might take a few more years. Money is short. I have arthritis that comes and goes. For now I put on a side car when it is bad. On or off in about 15 minutes. I would rather stay on 2 wheels, but it is worse each year. If it is a permanent deal, I would go with a trike. Right turns are a bit tricky with an empty side car.

Ride a bike that has been triked and then ride a bike with a voyager kit, only then will you be able to make a true decision. I went the cheap route first, voyager kit, I never felt comfortable or safe, I rode a trike and it felt much safer and whole lot more stable in the corners. Depending on your riding style, you will know which way you want to go after a trial run. Trikes are more expensive but also hold their value much better than the inexpensive kits. Enjoy the ride.
