Trailer to haul your Harley - reviews and features please
#11
So, I bought a basic shop-built 4X8 from a guy who built the trailer for his Harley. Removable front chock, tilt and the back tail gate folds down to work as a ramp. The tilt thing is cool but you have to drive on slowly or you can crater the automatic tilt shocks. Lots of tie downs and a great price.
Then a week later I bought a side car.
Guess what? I'm going to need a different trailer for the rig with the hack on it. LOL.
I do have an 8 X 16 fenderless low boy so I'll buy a front chock and use that for when I want to haul the bike+side car.

I posted some pictures of it on one of the other threads today.

Check us out if you're interested in an open air trailer. All built 100% in the USA! Hands down, best in the industry. Load in 30 seconds by yourself and never compress your forks.

I would start with a budget.
A nice Featherlight will run you an easy 10k+, a good middle of the road is Wells Cargo, Haulmark and more, then you get to bottom end of market, I would put the Hercules line among them. Look for frame construction, axel ratings and torsion vs spring, sidewall as well as how the corners are tied in, is the roof seamless, ...etc

If you can find one, jump on it. Believe they made trailers for Thule before buying back the company and are the best built trailers that I've found.

My wife's job has us traveling. We are home only 4 to 6 weeks per year and we wanted to have the bikes with us so we purchased a Continental Cargo 7x12. I wanted a 6' ceiling so we didn't get the low rider version. Other than that, our trailer looks just like this. http://www.tropictrailer.com/compone...art/Itemid,28/ Click "View More Images" for a look inside. Our trailer doesn't have the "stepped" floor and the roof is 6" taller than a low rider. I installed Condor chocks in it.
