Default Frustrated with caliper recall

My son rides a modified XG750. He's having problems with his front caliper that are consistent with it getting crudded up, so he's assuming it's the problem from the recall. He's been waiting a couple of weeks now for them to get the parts, and now we're hearing that folks have been getting the run around for months waiting for them. My kid is pissed; the weather is nice, he's making payments on a bike that he isn't ready to get out from under, has an extended warranty, and doesn't know when he's going to get back on the road. Anybody know what the holdup is in the supply chain on these parts? Anybody switching them out to aftermarket, for instance Brembos?

Fixed? Dropped off my wife’s yesterday and they said they had the kit in stock. Fingers crossed.

Yes, they fixed it a couple of weeks ago. He upgraded to a Brembo front caliper since. The mechanic at the dealership told him that these bikes come with Brembos, and doubted it would be an improvement. I doubt that's true, but its possible. The replacement Brembo he bought is dramatically better, though.

Took in ours Monday and ready yesterday. They did say they only had a few kits. Not sure if abs was the same caliper.
