I lane split illegally.
Traffic is jammed packed.
Rated worst interstate in the nation (2-90 in Chicago)

I save time.. it's fun.. and it feels so damn good seeing everyone stuck and you're not.

And to those saying it is more expensive for maintenance when you ride a bike. How?

Been using motorcycles to commute to work and school since high school. Current commute is 42 miles to work each way (84 total). Take a nice back county road route. All the miles I run up on my bike are miles I am not running up on my car and I am getting 45 MPG.

About 65 miles each way to work and back, head out around 4pm and roll into the parking lot around 5:30pm......I work them 12hr shifts. Now the best part.....it's nice spending around $20 a week in gas vs $70 driving the truck into work.

I am not understanding this cost of maintenance thing of which you refer. No matter what you drive/ride it is going to require upkeep/maintenance. If you get all of your work done at the dealership, I understand where you are coming from.
But, if you do you own maintenance/repairs, it is not all that bad.

^ Just what I was thinking.

At least my bikes are simple enough that I feel confident in doing basic maintenance such as fluid changes on them. Can't say the same about today's four-wheeled vehicles though.

To me the cost is a moot point anyway; the enjoyment of riding vs. driving makes it worthwhile.

Before I retired I rode to work as often as possible, only regretted it one day when it was reasonably nice out going to work, but a very bad snow storm 24 hours later. The original forecast said the snow woudn't be coming for almost 2 days. Surprise! (I worked 24 on 48 off in EMS) At the time it took me over an hour to ride to work in good weather, took me three times that long to get home and I was afraid I was going to dump the bike several times. Saw a few 4 wheelers in ditches on the way. I didn't know it but the country I lived in had declared a level II snow emergency, you were advised to stay off the roads unless absolutely required even in cars. They start citing people at level 3 unless it's an emergency, and my county has at least one of those every year. People at work called me at home to make sure I made it home. It was mainly because they had taken bets on what point of the ride I would either turn around and come back or wreck, and wanted to know who won. No one betted on me to make it all the way. I vowed I'd never do that again.

My bike is my daily driver for one reason only. I love to ride. I'd rather ride my Harley in a thunderstorm than drive a car. My daily commute is 12 miles on mostly two lane country roads so I look forward to going to work most every day. Other than that, there are no advantages. My car (2019 Chevy Equinox) gets only slightly less MPG than my Harley and is a whole lot cheaper to maintain. More convenient too. And, considering the fact that I usually take the long way home when I'm riding, the car would probably be better on gas.

Agreed, cars are getting very complicated to work on
