Sahara38,

That is a really good video with some great effects. Making me want to get the bike out but with windchills expected to be around zero on Sunday I guess I'll have to settle for cyber rides.

Thanks for sharing,
Dave

Hey poorboy,

I would like to upgrade my video software too, but you can do some panning with your still pics in WMM. Once you have the pic in the storyboard, right click on it and then click "video effects". This will give you quite a few panning and zooming options. Here is a video I posted here from a ride last year. It was my first attempt using WMM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq6t5UYc5W4
Wow thanks for the info!!!! I totally enjoyed your video. Great job!

BUT....here we go: I dropped a jpeg into the story board, right-clicked on it to bring up Video Effects. No where on that list of video effects are any Pan or Zoom choices. I can do all the smudges, rotates, Film Age, and fades. There's quite a list actually, but nothing referencing a pan or zoom ability.

Am I missing some that can plug-in? Is there a purchased version I need, vs. the free version that came with Windows XP?

Any help, any help at all will work! Thanks sahara!!!

I'm no expert on the subject, but I'll try to help if I can. Do you have the latest version of WMM? You can find out which version you have by Clicking "help" in WMM, then choose "about windows movie maker". It looks like the latest is 2.1, if not, try downloading it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...viemaker2.mspx
I am running Windows XP Media Edition, but I couldn't say if that makes a difference or not.
Let me know how it goes...sahara

Poorboy....It also appears the having SP2 (Service Pack 2) installed is important as well. It looks like the latest version of WMM comes with SP2. If you don't have that installed, there is some info about it on the same web page I just sent. On the right hand side of the page.

dave2800....Glad you liked the video. I feel sorry for you guys living up there in the frozen tundra. It gets too hot here in the summer, but being able to ride year round is a good trade off.

cyber ride safe....sahara

I have version 2.1.4026.0.

I did find a site that has some addons for Movie Maker. Here is the link http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/

I wish spring would get here, I am itching to get out and shot some video.

O.K. I do have SP2, and WMM version 2.1.4026.0. So I should be able to PAN & ZOOM on inserted still images.

The ONLY Video Effects that seem to work is the "ease in" and "ease out" options. I don't see any zoom or pan-type options in my list of effects.

What are the "Effects" I should be working with?

Thanks for EVERYONE's input!

Poorboy...You appear to have the exact same version that I have, so you now have me baffled. I have the following options in with all the other "video effects":
Pan, Upper Left to Upper Right
Pan, Upper Right to Upper Left
Zoom in, to Lower Left
Zoom in, to Lower Right
Zoom in, to Upper Left
Zoom in, to Upper Right
Zoom out, from Lower Left
Zoom out, from Lower Right
Zoom out, from Upper Left
Zoom out, from Upper Right
Zoom, Focus Lower Left
Zoom, Focus Lower Right
Zoom, Focus Upper Left
Zoom, Focus Upper Right

Man-o-man, I don't have ANY of these, but EXACTLY what I'm looking for.

I'll go hunting for plug-ins. I have Windows XP Home edition (SP2), I wonder if these effects go with one of those XP Media versions of the OS?

I'm really stumped now too!!!!
