Yes, we actually all rode ours there from southern MO. Did not spend much time in Sturgis, the rally is pretty much a joke, but the riding is great. No trailer in this group.

Beautiful....maybe some year I will get to do that 2up!

...can't get into the rally/party thing myself, how did you decide on the routes of your trip?

Unfortunately sometimes you have to trailer it when your body has failed you!

i would like to see a poll of how many members actually went to sturgis this year...including did you ride all the way, trailer it, first time, camp or motel, went to concerts, miles ridden during the week, etc..

if you are not going to party and people watch, the riding is much better when there is no rally going on--and things don't cost as much. no, the rally is not a joke, it is just not for everybody.

I took the fastest route to get there, and on our was we took I-90 across SD. We stopped at a rest area/visitors center along the way, they have on the counter a map with the best rides in the black hills highlighted. It's a free one page tear out map. You will see them many places. I also used my IPhone and GPS Drive motionX app to get around. Works flawlessly.

Yeah I understand hauling bikes when you have physical limitations, I'm 50 and it may not be long for me. I'm already considering a bagger for long haul riding rather than my Dyna. But I seen a chit load of young people hauling.
Riding that far has a bit of pride in it, at 50, I jumped on a wide glide and made the trip.

Great video. Nice mix of scenery from the area. Brought back memories of our trip last year. Thanks for posting.
