This is a question from 96 to 103 thread in engine mech
Have located a 103 motor along with the one mentioned in the other thread.
Want to hear from him before jumping.

Ok ?1 can or will the throttle body from the 08 work on a 2015 RG or 2016FLHX 103 motor.

?2 Would either of these 103 come with auto compression releases or should have them. The 16 appears not to have ACR. or " taking one out of a 2015 road this week with 4000 miles on it that has head work and cams in it"

1. The throttle body question all depends on whether the 103 is out of a Dyna or Softail as they have 46mm throats where a touring bike is a 50mm.
2. All 103's have automatic compression releases. You'll have to take it in to the HD dealer so they can re-adjust the ECU in the bike to activate the ACR's

 

one is a 2015 road glide the other 2016 street glide.

this will be going into an 08 ultra

The 08's ECU might not be able to recognize the ACR's, I'm not really sure. You can always block them off and install a set of manual releases or install a set of S&S Easy-Start cams.

 

Your 08 throttle body will fit just fine on either engine, as mentioned, they both come with ACR's. You may need to install 70623-06 or 70623-08 ACR overlay harness and then have the ACR's activated if your tuning device doesn't have the ability to do it.
